What is SaltyTrails?
SaltyTrails is a small-group adventure service for dogs who love the outdoors.
We explore beaches, trails, and natural spaces — building fitness, confidence, and connection.
This isn’t a pavement walk. This is real adventure.
How many dogs are in each group?
We keep groups small and controlled.
Max. 3 dogs per session.
Smaller packs mean calmer dogs, closer supervision, and safer adventures.
Do I receive tracking?
Yes — You will receive live STRAVA GPS tracking during our adventures, keeping you updated of the location, duration and distance of your dog's trip.
Are dogs on lead or off lead?
Dogs are on le ad.
Leads allow us to:
-
Maintain full control in public environments
-
Respect wildlife and other beach users
-
Keep dogs safe around tides, roads, and changing conditions
Off-lead beach sessions will be introduced in the future when dogs and their owners are good for this and locations allow it.
Where do the adventures take place?
Locations vary depending on weather, tides, and conditions.
Expect beaches, coastal trails, bush tracks, and natural open spaces around the Surf Coast — always chosen with fun in mind.
What dogs are eligible to join?
To ensure safety and harmony within the group, dogs must:
-
Be registered and desexed
-
Be fully vaccinated
-
Be over puppy age (no puppies)
-
Be comfortable around other dogs and people
Not sure if your dog is ready? Just ask.
What about reactive or anxious dogs?
We’re highly experienced in reading canine behaviour and stress signals.
Some dogs benefit from starting with 1:1 sessions before joining group adventures.
We’ll always recommend what’s best for your dog — not a one-size-fits-all approach.
How long are the sessions?
Adventures typically run 1.5–2 hours, allowing time for pick up and drop off, movement, exploration, rest, and supervision.
It’s about quality, not rushing. There's longer trips too. Check the booking page for details
Do you offer pick-up and drop-off?
Yes .
Perfect for busy days or dogs who settle better starting the adventure together.
Do you offer one-on-one sessions or home visits?
Yes.
1:1 adventures, home visits, and home stays are available on request.
These are tailored, calm, and ideal for dogs needing individual support. Ask us for further details.
What is your bad weather policy?
Safety always comes first.
If weather conditions are unsafe — including extreme heat, storms, high winds, or dangerous surf — adventures may be:
-
Modified
-
Rescheduled
-
Or cancelled
You’ll always be refunded + notified as early as possible.
What is your cancellation policy?
We get that life happens.
-
Cancellations with 48 hour notice may be rescheduled
-
Late cancellations or no-shows will not be refunded
What about safety and insurance?
SaltyTrails operates with strong risk awareness, experience, and preparation.
We are fully insured (details to be confirmed and published shortly).
Can I book regularly?
Yes — and we encourage it as spots are limited.
Regular bookings help dogs build routine, confidence, and stronger pack bonds.
Once-off adventures are welcome subject to availability.
Will I get updates?
Absolutely. You will receive GPS tracking info during the walk.
You’ll also receive photos or short videos — and one happy, well-exercised dog at pick-up.
